This Week at Agape ICA (22-Mar-2010)
Yesterday was a marvelous day of worship, praise, and testimonies, and the congregation learning to be good farmers. The service started with Ricky from the Chosen Ones congregation leading the worship time. A mother-daughter team who are missionaries in Berlin, Germany gave their personal testimonies of how to follow the Lord step by step and day by day. The mother, Kim Droptiny, gave her testimony of how God had directed her life after some hardships, and led to going to Berlin. The outstanding thing was the way God was teaching her to put her trust in God and know His leadings. Then the daughter BreAnna told of their work in Berlin which has been mainly a street ministry to Germans. She told of the Coffee House they are preparing so they will be indoors during the very cold winters. Teams come from all over the world for short term helping visits. They work in cooperation with the International YWAM organization in Berlin. The congregation was so responsive to their outstanding testimonies of the Leading of the Lord. It was truly an inspirational time. Pray for their ministry and visit their website at www.2thestreets.com to learn more. They are in Taipei to visit their son Gabe who teaches English here.
Following this Pastor Leid spoke on part 2 of, "Who Does God Want Me To Be?". First of all, Pastor asked the congregation how many of them were farmers. This seemed like a strange question and only 3 or 4 four raised their hands. Pastor then explained that God wanted them all to create vineyards based on the Lord’s advice in John 15:5-8. “I am the vine, you are the branches…….” Some of the things you need for a good vineyard are
- Choose the right location.
- Decide the type of life you want to grow.
- Make sure there is plenty of God’s sunshine for your vineyard.
- Grape roots are 10 meters long. Examine to see how long your roots are in Christ.
- Vineyards need a climate that is not too hot nor too cold. Hot and cold Christians do not grow good fruit.
- The value of fruit to the farmer is when the fruit is taken to the market to be shared by other people.
- To be the person God wants you to be will take year around care.
