A World Missions View

The Assemblies of God World Missions program has its home base in the United States, but has independent AG groups around the world.

Currently the World AG Constituents are in 212 countries. There are approximately 55 million people who claim the Assemblies of God as their church home. By the end of 2006 there will be approximately 300,000 AG ministers. This includes all the AG churches around the world.

From the United States, total missions giving in 2005 reached an all time high of $210,957,540 US dollars. This allowed 2,660 missionaries and missionary associates to be sent to 212 countries. Central and Latin America have the largest block of AG missionaries.

As a part of a world wide Pentecostal movement we are happy to have 9 percent of all Pentecostal believers around the world in our ranks.

What are the strong points of AG missions?

First, we have always followed the commission of Jesus Christ to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. This is the theme of EVANGELISM. We are an evangelistic organization with the winning of souls as our primary goal.

Secondly, we are to DISCIPLE all new believers. Discipling means training in the Word of God, and in daily living. This is the reason we have 859 Bible Schools, 1,131 Extension programs, and 39 Seminaries around the world. Currently there are about 95,000 students in these schools. The local churches are training millions more. For every missionary there are approximately 17,000 members/adherents. This is a healthy ration. National pastors become the back bone of ministry around the world.

Your missionary giving and Faith Promises make all this possible around the world.
