Last week at our Missionary Conference we were talking about things that happened to us in church when we were young. I said that one lady came up to me one day in church and said to me, "Harry, one thing you will never have to worry about when you grow up is being handsome." I never did know the purpose of her giving me this gem of information, but it stuck in my mind for years. She was sort of a prophetess, but in an unnecessary way.

What we say to our children can hurt them, and stay with them a long time. I decided if I could not be handsome then I would put my effort into excelling in sports, and I did excel playing Varsity Football and Basketball, and going to the Ohio State High School Track Meet in two events.

My grandmother and my mother were the big motivators in my spiritual life. Thank God for Christian Grandparents and parents. If your parents are Christian you have much to thank God for in this day and age.

Yes, we are blessed as we all have so much to be thankful for today, and these blessings will carry over and go with us right into heaven in the future.
